Dr. Mufson explains, “Interpersonal Psychotherapy for Depressed Adolescents (IPT-A) is a 12-15 session individual treatment for adolescents 12-18 years old that focuses on reducing depressive symptoms and improving interpersonal relationships and social functioning. This presentation will provide participants with an overview of IPT-A principles as well as key IPT-A strategies and techniques.”

Laura Mufson, PhD, is the Viola W. Bernard Professor of Medical Psychology in Psychiatry at Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC) and Associate Director of the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in the Department of Psychiatry, Columbia University, and Director of Clinical Psychology at New York State Psychiatric Institute. Dr. Mufson has had an active research career studying the efficacy and effectiveness of evidence-based psychotherapies for children and adolescents. She is the author of 3 books and many publications on IPT-A, is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association, and has conducted numerous training workshops on IPT-A throughout the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe and Scandinavia.
