On Tuesday, October 24, 2023, Diana Winston, Director of Mindfulness Education at UCLA Mindful Awareness Research Center (MARC), led a workshop on mindfulness and how it can be helpful to reduce stress and cultivate well-being for adolescents and their parents as part of the Alan Hu Foundation Mental Health Lecture Series. Diana explained, “Mindfulness involves paying attention to your present-moment experiences, and there is scientific evidence showing its positive impact on stress, attention, and mental and physical health. Mindfulness offers helpful tools for anxiety and depression and can help cultivate positive emotions. Participants will engage in an experiential workshop to discover how mindfulness practices apply to daily life or school, to provide support in these challenging times.”
