Introduction to Mindfulness Workshop Webinar
By Diana Winston, UCLA

Presented by the Alan Hu Foundation

On Tuesday, October 24, 2023, Diana Winston, Director of Mindfulness Education at UCLA Mindful Awareness Research Center (MARC), will lead a workshop on mindfulness and how it can be helpful to reduce stress and cultivate well-being for adolescents and their parents as part of the Alan Hu Foundation Mental Health Lecture Series. Ms. Winston explains, “Mindfulness involves paying attention to your present-moment experiences, and there is scientific evidence showing its positive impact on stress, attention, and mental and physical health. Mindfulness offers helpful tools for anxiety and depression and can help cultivate positive emotions. Participants will engage in an experiential workshop to discover how mindfulness practices apply to daily life or school, to provide support in these challenging times.”

The free webinar will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, from 6:00 – 7:00 pm PT via Zoom. It will include 15 minutes for questions and answers following Ms. Winston’s presentation. Participants may join beginning at 5:45 pm PT. The Mental Health Association for Chinese Communities at https://www.mhacc-usa.org will provide simultaneous Chinese interpretation.

Diana Winston is the author of The Little Book of Being, and the co-author of Fully Present, the Science, Art, and Practice of Mindfulness.
